"Bioluminescence: Danger in Beauty" is a zine I created to explore the fetishization of bioluminescent beaches on social media. These stunning glowing beaches, caused by bioluminescent algae, captivate viewers, but what they don’t know is that the glow has intensified due to the harmful effects of climate change. In this piece, I blend poetry and education to craft a scientific narrative that actively engages the reader, rather than simply relaying information.
